Necessity of Oilfield Vertical Cuttings Dryer

Oil drilling at first is the economic activity focusing on benefits and the industry and life development, to most of the occasion. While drilling is still an environment breaking activity, it may cause serious pollution to soil, water as well as the airs. Therefore, drilling waste disposal is badly needed.

In order to effectively reduce pollution to the environment, a newly designed unit called cuttings dryer or vertical centrifuge (VC) is promoted and widely applied in the oil drilling plant. Vertical centrifuge (VC) is a machine designed to reduce the operator’s total fluids cost and limit waste disposal volumes. This is achieved by directly recovering the fluids from the cuttings, and by recovering any weighted mud from the shaker screens avoiding that it can be lost due to a failure of the shaker, a movement of the rig or the occlusion of the screen. The machine helps meet certain fluid-on-cuttings discharge requirements that must be abided by. Vertical centrifuge (VC) is favorable to separate drilling cuttings for oil based oil and water based oil within the international waste discharge standard. The oil on cuttings (OOC%) is below than 5% (w/w) by the ruled value of international standard.

Usually, Vertical Centrifuge (VC) is applied in the plant followed by solids control and separated drilling mud can also be injected into the mud circulation system and recycle the barite in the drilling mud.
