The KOSUN Drill Cuttings Dryer reduces drilling fluid costs and minimizes waste by recovering drilling fluid from cuttings, reclaiming weighted mud from shaker screens, and preventing losses from shaker failures, rig movement, or screen blockages. This continuous-screen centrifuge automatically separates solids and liquids using high centrifugal acceleration, purifying the recovered fluid for reuse in the active mud system. It is effective with diesel-, mineral-, and synthetic oil-based muds, particularly large cuttings in synthetic mud systems, enhancing cost savings. The system also lowers waste disposal volume and meets regulatory requirements for liquid content in cuttings. Designed for safe operation, this high-speed machine requires proper handling and maintenance to prevent hazards.

Working Principle
Feed enters the machine from the top through the feed hopper. The conical cover and blades accelerate the feed to the machine’s rotational speed and direct it onto the screen basket. Solid-liquid separation begins immediately as the feed contacts the screen, with the flow rate controlled by the speed difference between the cone and the screen and by the agitator blades, which stir the solids to enhance separation. Solids are discharged at the bottom and collected via a hopper or conveyor, while the liquid passes through the screen and exits through the waste liquid outlet.

The VC700-VFD model offers variable frequency (VFD) speed control, with an optional dual VFD version that independently adjusts the screen basket and agitator blade speeds for optimal separation of different cuttings and moisture levels. The single VFD model features a fixed differential speed for stable operating conditions. Agitator blades have a high-hardness coating, and the screen basket is made of wear-resistant, high-strength material, extending service life and reducing maintenance. Safety features include overcurrent protection and an interlocked lubrication system. The marine-type model has anti-corrosion coating for harsh environments. An integrated thin-oil lubrication station provides both lubrication and heat dissipation, with pressure and flow monitoring to ensure reliable long-term operation.
