Solids Control's Beginning And KOSUN's Mud Agitator

One of the earliest known uses of solids control in a well drilling process that occurred in the late 19th century. A series of processing pits were used to capture the drilling fluid from well drilling rigs. As the fluid passed from one pit to the next, it was allowed to settle. The force of gravity caused the solids to settle out of the liquid. The drilling fluid could then be channeled to a pumping station where it was sent on to the drilling equipment for re-use.

The mud agitator is an important part of the mud solids control system, it is mounted on the circulating tank,KOSUN mud agitator combines compact design with high torque performance levels necessary for a uniformly suspended flow of drilled solids throughout the mud systems.It’s powered by explosion proof motor and connected through heavy duty gear reducer, this agitator transfers high torque at RPM to Impeller to perform the most severe mud mixing conditions.Impellers are available in three types viz. six blade mixed flow turbine type, four blade axial flow type and three blade twisted profile type to achieve highest performance in different site and mud conditions.
