What does the lubrication of drilling fluids lubricate?

The lubrication of drilling fluids not only lubricate the mud cake of well wall,but also lubricate the drilling fluids itself ,and the instrument used in test performance of drilling fluids called analysis meter. the both all for reducing rotational resistance and tyra resistance.The coefficient of friction resistance is to evaluate the lubricative performance of drilling fluids,the lubricity of drilling mud lie between oil and air,the one of air is 0.5,the one of water is 0.35,diesel is 0.07,and the one of drilling mud is 0.2-0.35,If we add the lubricating agent to the drilling mud ,then ,we can reduce it to 0.10 below .The coefficient of friction resistance of drilling mud maintain 0.20-0.25 in Shanbei ,that is great.

Why to choose the different lubricants between the no solids phase drilling fluids and solids phase ?

The drilling fluids with no solids phase means that it doesn’t include solids phase,and doesn’t form the mud cake in the well wall.therefore,it doesn’t need to lubricate the mud cake,just to lubricate drilling fluids itself .for this purpose ,Some lubricant does not dissolve in water,such as plastic pellet,graphite,glass beads,asphalt powder etc which are not used in no solids phase drilling fluids ,when we choose the liquid lubricant and surface active agent,who can reduce the surface tension of the water and the friction brake itself. Solid drilling fluids has good adsorption for the inert solid lubricant,asphalt kind of lubricant and liquid lubricant which also can reduce the friction of mud cake and drilling fluids itself.We need to insight the well depth ,performance of drilling fluids and cost to choose the lubricant .
